Future Capacity Changes of China-Made WPC Decking
Jan 30 ,2026
As a global leader in WPC production, China will see steady capacity changes in WPC decking in the coming years, driven by policy support, market demand and technological progress.
Currently, China’s WPC decking capacity is mainly concentrated in the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and Bohai Rim regions (78% of the national total). Supported by the "double carbon" strategy and green building policies, its total WPC capacity is expected to rise from 8 million tons in 2025 to over 12 million tons by 2030, with WPC decking as a core driver. Leading enterprises are expanding capacity with new intelligent production lines to improve efficiency.

Regional distribution will adjust gradually. Central and western regions, supported by relevant policies, will undertake more new capacity. Meanwhile, industrial concentration will increase—CR5 is expected to rise from 46% in 2025 to over 65% by 2030—as small enterprises with backward capacity are eliminated.
Technological upgrading will reshape capacity structure. With 82% localization of key equipment, production costs are reduced. The development of new-type WPC decking will drive existing capacity transformation, with bio-based raw material penetration exceeding 40% by 2030.
In short, China’s WPC decking capacity will grow steadily, focusing on structural optimization and technological upgrading, to consolidate its global leading position.
